DocExplore can generate presentations that you can easily put on the web, like this one (modern browser required).
DocExplore is a free, open-source, cross-platform software suite enabling anyone to create rich interactive digital books.
Using it is easy:
- Import the pages of your book
- Add text, pictures, sound and video to areas of a page
- Export to the desktop or to the web
DocExplore is the result of an academic project of the same name, initiated by computer science laboratories LITIS (University of Rouen, France) and EDA (University of Kent, U.K.) in 2009, funded by the Interreg IVa program. To help define and test our software, the project involved historians and archivists, in particular: the GRHIS (University of Rouen), the Rouen Public Libraries, CMEMS (University of Kent) and the Archives of the Canterbury Cathedral.
